A new priest talks about his ordination

Father McCulloughA touching interview with Father Alex McCullough, one of seven priests ordained May 21 at the Cathedral of St. Peter in Chains, has been posted online.

Fr, McCulloughDescribing that morning, before he was ordained, Father McCullough recalls that “I just sat here in the church, in front of the tabernacle for a long time, and just said ‘This is it. Everything I have, it’s Yours. I’m giving it all to You, God, You do with it what you will.’ It was quite a morning.”

About the homily that day, he says: “The one line that really jumps out … I mean I’ve olny been ordained a few weeks but it jumps out at me every once in awhile …  It’s ‘Today you become what you were born to be.’ He called us, from the moment we were called into existence, to be priests for his people, and this is the day when that happens.”
