‘Victoriana was 5 years old when she saw her father gunned down in front of their home in Honduras. The blood-tinged image has haunted her for ten years. 

“But now she is talking about this traumatic event thanks to new bilingual mental health counseling sessions provided by Catholic Charities Southwestern Ohio at Dater High School in Cincinnati.”

That’s from a just-published Catholic Charities USA report about how its Cincinnati-based member agency provides free weekly counseling for the teenager and six Dater classmates who crossed the U.S. southern border unaccompanied by an adult.

Your generosity to One Faith, One Hope, One Love has helped offer counseling and case management for more than 200 unaccompanied children from Central America, assisting them in becoming acclimated to their new surroundings and opening their legal claims for immigrant status.
